Urban Gardening Project Launched at Mission’s Hotel Louisville
A new trend known as urban gardening makes efficient use of small spaces on rooftops, balconies, and parking lots for raising vegetables and flowers. Now, city dwellers can experience the joy of growing delicious vegetables for their own tables. Thanks to the generosity of the University of Louisville, the mission has nine 8’ X 12’ elevated gardens in the parking lot of Hotel Louisville. Not only will our ladies learn the secrets of organic gardening, working outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine is highly therapeutic. And what is more delicious than fresh, homegrown vegetables? Just as important, our ladies will experience the self-satisfaction that comes from enjoying the tangible results of their own hard work. We are grateful to the University of Louisville for making this urban gardening project possible.
